Council Action Requested:
The South Carolina Building Code Council has mandated that certain new codes be adopted effective January 1, 2023, and the County's ordinance must be updated to reflect the new codes. There are 121 Code changes in this adoption cycle by the State. These changes are inclusive of all trades and codes disciplines. A copy of the listing index of all changes from LLR-SC Building Codes Council is attached to the packet. The adoption of codes excludes appendices, except those Appendices H, J, and Q as adopted by the SC Building Codes Council.
Points to Consider:
The County's ordinance must be updated to reflect the new building codes, as required by state law. Staff will continue to educate contractors and design professionals on the new code adoption and requirements.

There are no budget factors regarding passage of this Ordinance.

Adopt the ordinance as presented.
