Application by George Banks McGinn and Sallie Cooper to rezone approximately 2.9 acres located at 168 Fort Mill Highway (TM # 0008-00-007.00) from Mixed Use (MX) to General Business (GB) district, to develop as a commercial property.
Points to Consider:
The subject parcel opted out of the 2020 mass MX rezoning, which rezoned 42 parcels from MX zoned districts to other zoning districts to remain conforming with the Unified Development Ordinance. This was in hopes of being bought by the nearby Capital Club project. The owner is now looking to rezone the parcel since the property acquisition failed to occur.

The item received unanimous approval at the January 17th Planning Commission meeting. The Planning Commission briefly discussed concerns for traffic with future development of the site.
