This is a recognition for Sheron Adams being named the South Carolina Sheriff's Association's 2023 Detention Officer of the Year.

Sheron Adams has been with the County for 26 years. Her nomination form states that she rose to the rank of Lieutenant with the Department of Corrections before moving to the Lancaster County Detention Center in 2019. It also states that her calm demeanor and valuable experience have been as asset to the facility. And, that even though she holds no official title, she is a quiet leader on her shift. Her nomination form notes that she leads by example, has a calm and professional approach with inmates, and is a great training officer. It further states that she is the perfect example of a team player.
