Consider proposed ordinance for use change to the Light Industrial Districts.

 

Planning Commission held a public hearing on 5/21/24 and unanimously recommended approval.

Points to Consider:

As discussed in previous Council meetings, there are uses currently allowed in the Light Industrial (LI) district list of permitted uses that are out of sync with the primary uses in LI districts. This ordinance seeks to remedy that.



Funding and Liability Factors:

Staff was not able to find any existing amusements that were currently in the LI zones and would be negatively impacted by the change.

 

(Note: Staff identified the Crow's Nest driving range on the initial map and list of amusement uses; Chairman Deese noted that the range has been closed.  Staff updated the report by striking the use from the list but the identification point remains on the map.)



Recommendation:

Approve Ordinance 2024-1896.
