Council Action Requested: Approve allocation of funds from the State Accommodations Tax for FY 2023-2024. Strategic Plan Focus Area Alignment:


Points to Consider: The Advisory Committee makes recommendations to County Council pursuant to SC Code 6-4-25(c). Grant applications were received until April 26, 2024. The Committee met on June 7, 2024 to hear presentations and duly considered requests from nine entities. The Committee recommends a total disbursement of $78,500.00 in State A Tax funds as outlined in the attached Resolution. Funding and Liability Factors: Recommended for funding: A. Carolinas Chili Championship - $26,000 B. Lancaster County SC 250 Committee - $22,500 C. Lindsay Pettus Greenway, Inc. - $10,000 D. Lancaster County Council of the Arts - $10,000 E. Lancaster County Community Center - $10,000 The Committee also recommended to roll over $1,697.00 to the next fiscal year. Recommendation: Staff recommends accepting the Resolution.
