Each year, Lancaster County has 171 citizen volunteers who serve as  County Council appointees to the 21 County-established Boards or Commissions. 

 

Each of the Boards or Commissions had the opportunity to nominate one member to be considered for the "Board Member of the Year" award.

 

The nominees' written commendations were submitted to an impartial, 3rd party Committee made up of members from the Catawba Regional Council of Governments. The Committee, based on the written recommendations from their Board or Commission, selected the Ted Arant Board Member of the Year for Lancaster County.

Lancaster County Council has organized the Board Member of the Year process as a way to thank the County's volunteer Board and Commission members and to gratefully recognize all of the finalists for Board Member of the Year.
