This item is for information for Council and citizens to provide recognition of the local High School EMS program.

Public Safety

Meet the demands of the growth of the County without negatively impacting the quality of Public Safety Service.
Points to Consider:

The County has worked with the Lancaster County Public Schools to develop a high school program and curriculum that provides graduating seniors with the requisite training and hours to earn an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certiciate.

 

This class addresses two goals: 1) for high school seniors to graduate with skills to assist in immediately joining the workforce and 2) providing Lancaster County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with a pipeline of trained and certified future employees.

 

This presentation recognizes the recent graduating EMT Class from the Lancaster High School Vocational School.



Funding and Liability Factors:

Funding for the EMS student program is through the EMS budget.



Recommendation:
Recognize the recent graduates of the EMS school program for EMT certification.
