Strategic Plan Focus Area Alignment:

Public Safety

Meet the demands of the growth of the County without negatively impacting the quality of Public Safety Service.
Points to Consider:

Lancaster County has a number of fire volunteers and others that regularly give of their time and self to serve and assist the citizens of the County.

These volunteers are well trained in a number of areas, including rendering first aid and other life-saving techniques.

One such fire volunteer with the Kershaw Fire Department, heard a call come across the radio about a shooting incident, that was near to where he was driving while off duty.

Mr.Jaquan Moore responded to the call without due regard for his safety to help and was the first one to arrive on the scene to aid the shooting victim.

Due to his volunteer training in stop the bleed, and quick response, the shooting victim was stabilized and is making a full recovery.

Funding and Liability Factors:

None

Recommendation:

Recognize the heroic actions and training of Jaquan Moore from the Kershaw Fire Department.
