Council Action Requested: Adopt updated Ordinance to reflect changes to the recent building codes standards. CHANGES MADE SINCE 1ST READING: 7-24(e): added a reference to other current adopted code series, per request from building official (an edit that was inadvertently missed in first draft) 7-24 (g): removed language regarding when the building official could revoke a permit and defaulted to the guidance already adopted by the state and Lancaster County in the building codes. 7-25 (a) (3): removed reference to any other agency other than Council and the Administrator having the ability to waive fees. Points to Consider: Recent inquiries from the public have highlighted an error in the County code where the code conflicts with the previously-adopted building codes, in particular where definitions of repair and permits are concerned, specifically as they relate to manufactured houses, demolition permits and unfit dwellings, This ordinance seeks to amend the county code to comply with the state-adopted building code standards in these sections. Funding and Liability Factors: None. Recommendation: Review and approve Ordinance.
